Amcomri Group has today confirmed the completion of its acquisition of Spiral Weld Limited, a specialist weld overlay and machining company who offer a unique repair, refurbishment and upgrade service for large rotating industrial shafts and control valves found in critical service application in the marine, power including nuclear, and energy sectors.
Spiral Weld is the latest engineering services addition to Amcomri’s growing specialist Process Engineering Division.
Spiral Weld was established in 1989 and was purchased by Gregory Lindsell in 2000. Since then the business has continued to progressively develop its innovative technology and has become a trusted name, with many customers having used Spiral Weld’s specialist services since 1989.
With globally recognised expertise in advanced spiral weld overlay techniques and fast turnaround service, Spiral Weld can substantially reduce both downtime and replacement costs compared to new component sourcing. In addition, the company’s advanced weld overlay process provides options to use the latest high-performance materials to significantly extend the service life of parts in harsh operating environments compared to standard or OEM supplied materials or components.
From its Southampton facility, Spiral Weld provides this specialist service across all major industrial, process, power and marine sectors and in addition to its extensive workshop engineering capability it also provides component failure analysis consultancy services.
