Amcomri Group Limited, the fast-growing specialist in British engineering and manufacturing has today confirmed the acquisition of Bex Design & Print, a specialist print business providing quality services in the electronics and other sectors.
Bex Design & Print Ltd (“Bex”), based in Wiltshire, was originally known as Serobex, and was founded by Michael Board in 1987 with just two employees. The company moved to its current premises in 1995 and rebranded as Bex Design & Print. Since then the business has grown considerably while developing a strong reputation for quality, reliability and customer service.
Michael’s son, Ian, became Managing Director in 2005, and under his management the company has made substantial investment in state-of-the-art machinery in order to to significantly reduce lead times and costs. The continued investment in the best equipment available has also meant that Bex Design & Print can now offer the widest range of designs and materials and become a key supplier to a number of new markets and sectors.
Jessica Painter, a partner at the company’s advisors, Watersheds, said “Amcomri Group is a fast-growing, acquisitive group of quality British engineering and manufacturing businesses. Over the past four years the group has acquired nine SMEs in the industrial sectors, and has a wealth of experience in optimising business performance. We recognised that Amcomri Group was a good fit with Bex, as Bex is already a highly respected brand and as a specialist printer enjoys a particularly strong reputation within manufacturing industries.”
Bex chairman Ian Board said:
“Having spent decades building a successful business, our family wanted to make sure that succession planning was in place to ensure the firm’s next iteration was a positive one, and also to protect the job security of the loyal colleagues who have contributed to Bex Design & Print’s continued growth and success.”
“We have been delighted with how the sale has gone, and feel we have directed Bex towards a very promising future through the sale to Amcomri Group.”Mark O’Neill of Amcomri Group said: “Bex is an extremely well-run business that has performed particularly well during the recent difficult trading period. The company is a particularly good fit with our growing group of specialist electronics businesses and we look forward to working with Ian Board and the team at Bex to deliver further success to the business.”
